Midwifery Care North Don River Valley

Midwifery Care of North Don River Valley has been proudly serving families since the very beginning of regulated midwifery services in Ontario.

One of the first practices to open in the province, we were founded by three midwives who already had many years of experience before Midwifery became regulated and funded by the Ministry of Health. Today we have grown to a practice of more than a dozen Midwives and students who attend nearly 500 births each year.

Over the years, our Midwives have also gone onto start several other practices in different parts of Toronto and across Ontario. As a dedicated teaching practice, we are committed to growing midwifery services in Ontario so that even more families can have the safe, respectful care they deserve in pregnancy.

We are an active part of the Maternal and Newborn department of North York General Hospital, where all of our Midwives hold privileges and work alongside Obstetricians, Family Doctors and Paediatricians. Our service area includes north Toronto, North York, Vaughan, Woodbridge, Thornhill and Richmond Hill.

Territory Acknowledgement

Midwifery Care NDRV recognizes that we work on the traditional and unceded lands of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat. We are grateful guests of this land and are proud to live and thrive here alongside the many First Nations, Inuit and Metis people who currently call this area home.

The greatest privilege of a human life is to become a midwife to the awakening of the Soul in another person.”
